Akiane Kramarik’s Prince of Peace

Akiane Kramarik is a contemporary North American artist. Akiane’s mother is from Lithuania and her father is an American. Akiane Kramarik is a child prodigy who started sketching at four and painting at the age of seven. She is a self-taught artist and claims to have God as her teacher. According to Akiane, the inspiration for her art and literature comes from God, her visions, dreams and observation of people and nature. Akiane is also a poet, pianist and a humanitarian. She writes poetry for every one of her paintings. Money from her art exhibits and auctions go to fund many projects to help poor people, especially children around the world.

Akiane Kramarik is a realist painter. Her paintings are unique and extraordinary. I love all her paintings and my favorites include the Prince of Peace, Father Forgive Them, Found and My Sight Cannot Wait
(her self portrait). She is a great inspiration to people everywhere and a gift from GOD, our Father, to us. Please read below comments about Akiane’s paintings and poetry:

The Fine Art’s Phenomenon’ Spokesman Review — Spokane, Washington, United States
“…an 8 year-old prodigy’s paintings and poetry attract experts’ attention. We are not aware of any other expert who has been able to offer a plausible explanation for how a person is so accomplished to master this, when never afforded years of experience. Akiane is probably the only visual arts prodigy to have mastered realism. Every other prodigy has mastered forms such as either cubism or abstraction. Which means, frankly, that you don’t know if they made a mistake. But realism is considered the most difficult to master. Akiane’s art is only one facet of what makes her so special. Her poetry is as much in her heart and soul as are her paintings. You can justifiably call her an old soul in a young person’s body. One sees the expression on the face she has brushed on the canvas and then realizes where it is coming from.”

Marina Koledintseva Ph.D. Professor, University of Missouri
“Akiane is an absolute artistic prodigy! One can hardly believe the works were painted by a small girl. Father Forgive Them is an especially strong painting. Her creation electrifies with the realism, the artistic sense, and the level of mastery, spectacular even for a adult artist. When I was first acquainted with the petite Akiane she was only five, and even then she amazed everyone with her abilities. I still to this day treasure the pencil sketches, including my portrait and a squirrel, live as live can be, that she gave me as a gift. And recently I was moved also by her poetry. In fact, I was so intrigued that I offered to translate her poetry into Russian.”

Alfred Gushchius Renowned Lithuanian literary critic and poet
“It seems that these expressions are not those of a young girl, but of a mature poet whose aphoristic and enigmatic thinking come to her instantly. Hers is definitely a philosophical poetry, and our world literature can be so proud of this new wunderkind genius.”

Vladislovas Blintrubas Distinguished Lithuanian poet
“Akiane is a literary phenomenon in the history of poetic art. I doubt there has ever been a literary child genius of such maturity, lyrical virtuosity, and spiritual transcendence! Her rare gift will be engraved for ever in the history pages of the world’s literature. I see the cosmic hope and meaning of life in her wisdom-saturated imagery. I am speechless!”

Press
Jurij Sizenov Nikolaevich Shabolovka (Russian television and mega radio network)
“We are all in total awe here, at this Russian television station! We compared Akianes’s extraordinary painting Prince of Peace with the computerized image taken from the Shroud Of Turin, that was hanging in my office. To our complete shock and marvel we found virtually an exact match! It is a miracle and it must come from God! There are no words to describe how a little 8-year-old girl could portray such wisdom, compassion and love in the eyes she painted. The technical and emotional details along with the visual strength in her paintings are astounding and stupendous! When I have a difficult day, all I need to do is to look at her paintings. In her striking self-portrait the light literally comes forth from her…What a mission on earth she carries! Bravo!”

Cesaria Evora

Today, my post is not about a painter, contemporary or otherwise. It is rather a tribute to one of my favorite performing artists, Madame Cesaria Evora, one of the best singers in the world. Cesaria Evora passed away Saturday, December 17, 2011 in Mindelo, on her native island of Sao Vicente in Cape Verde, West Africa. She was laid to rest December 21, 2011.

Cesaria Evora won Grammy and numerous other awards and recognition around the world for her songs. She was often referred to as the “Barefoot Diva” because she often performed without shoes in solidarity with the poor women and children in her country who cannot afford shoes.

Cesaria Evora
What sad news is this that I hear?
It is not true. Is it?
Oh! My heart weeps!
What have you done again this time?
Death, you are simply heartless, cruel and selfish.
Show your face! Coward, you can’t.
What did you intend to accomplish?
Rien! Nothing! You’ve accomplished absolutely nothing.
Madame Cesaria Evora lives!
She lives on in her music.
She lives in my heart.
She lives in the hearts and memories of her fans around the world.
Madame Cesaria Evora, may the light of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ
illuminate your paths and lead you home.
Rest in Peace.
Obrigada!
